Rates & Stuff

Project Rates Anything over 10 Hours is considered a project. This could be adding a whole new section to an existing site, redesigning an existing site, or building a brand new site from scratch. Whatever the project is will be discussed, a time estimate will be drawn up, we'll talk a bit about your budget, and we'll go from there. This could be $150+, depending on the amount of work that needs to be done.

Maintenance: 45 Dollars This is an initial fee, for anything between 1 and 3 hours of work. This is a buffer for me, to make sure that whatever time I spend is paid for. This means that if I work an hour and a half updating events and fixing a few dead links, I charge you 45.

15 Dollars an Hour For anything Up To 10 hours. This is a buffer for you, so that you know that I'll only work 10 hours at by-the-hour rates before we discuss a price for a project. This means, then, that if I work 4 hours because after doing the 3 hours of work you suddenly remember that you wanted me to add a pop-up page of extra information, with pictures, I'll charge you 60 dollars. If we for some reason make it to 10 hours doing a lot of extra fixing, you won't have to pay any more than $150.

Site from Scratch If you are wanting a site done from the ground up, this is a whole new story. I'm still working on procedures and prices, so we'll discuss this until an agreement is made.

Other Media In some cases I'm willing to do other freelance design as well, such as Flyers, Brochures, Business Cards, and other Hand Outs. The pricing for that basically depends on the size of the project, usually from 10 dollars for a business card to 35 dollars for a Brochure.

Graphics The time it takes to edit/create a graphic or other image is included in the time for the web work.

About the Girl

This is the About me Page, so I suppose I should write a little about myself. I'm 21 years old, a mother of one, and I love to design. I've always loved to design things, from rooms to pages, to, ultimately, web sites. It's something I enjoy doing, and I like seeing beautiful, functional sites on the internet, so I will strive to do the best I can for you. Honesty is very important to me in every aspect of my life, so I'll try to be as straight-forward as possible.

A Little History

My Senior year in High School in 2002, I came down with something that kept me home for 6 weeks. My father suggested I find a hobby, so I learned some HTML, and made my first web site, just a few pages on angelfire. Since then, I've become fluent in HTML, learned CSS (The thing that makes pages pretty), A Little Javascript (The thing that makes pages do things), and, most recently, taught myself PHP and some MySql (The really heavy-duty stuff). With this arsenal of acronyms at my side, plus a love of writing, and a huge artistic side, I feel I've been able to come up with some pretty neat things with my own web site. My first day job at the Bossard Memorial Library led to a little fiddling with layouts in my spare time, and suddenly became my first real web job. After leaving their official employment to be a mommy, I did my first bit of freelancing for them, and this gave me the base needed to build something on.

The Future

My current goal is to go back to school for web design to have a degree, and a good, solid education backing me. Most of what I know is self-taught, and quite effective, but, as in everyone's life, there is always room for improvement ;). Almost everything I'm doing now is to help make a living, and to try and reach that goal.
